Privacy Policy

Cal/d is built to keep your data yours. It has no servers, no accounts, no ads, and no analytics.

That describes the app. This website is separate: like the rest of danielhaven.com, the page you’re reading now uses Google Analytics for basic visitor statistics.

What it reads

With your permission, Cal/d reads dietary energy (calories) from Apple Health to compute your daily average and budget. If you enable the optional “Subtract calories burnt” feature, it also reads active energy (calories burned) to subtract from your eaten total. That’s the only Health data it accesses. It never writes anything to Health.

Where your data lives

What we collect

Nothing. Cal/d contains no networking code at all, so no data is ever sent to us or to anyone else on its own. We do not track you, profile you, or share or sell any data.

The only ways data leaves your device are ones you start yourself: syncing through your own private iCloud account, which we cannot access, and copying or sharing an AI prompt (below).

AI prompts

The AI Prompt tab builds a plain-text summary of your progress — your daily limit, start date, totals, average, and remaining budget — for you to read, copy, or share. Cal/d does not send it anywhere.

If you paste or share that summary into an AI assistant or any other app, the data goes to whoever operates that service, and their privacy policy governs what happens to it — not this one. It describes your eating and exercise, so it’s worth knowing where you’re sending it before you paste.

Other apps

If you choose a preferred calorie tracker, tapping “Log calories” simply opens that app. No data is shared with it; Cal/d just launches it.

Children

Cal/d does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
