AWS Data Exchange
- What it is
- A marketplace to find, subscribe to, and use third-party data sets in the cloud.
- Thousands of products: financial market data, weather, healthcare, demographics, geospatial, mapping.
- How it works
- Subscribe through the console; data is delivered into your Amazon S3 bucket, or accessed via API, Amazon Redshift data shares, or S3 access points.
- Automatic updates when the provider publishes a new revision, with Amazon EventBridge notifications.
- Billing appears on your AWS bill.
- Why
- Removes the FTP-and-invoice cycle of traditional data procurement, and puts the data next to the analytics services that will consume it.
- Not to be confused with
- AWS Marketplace — third-party software. Data Exchange is third-party data.
