- Scalable, cost-effective email service for transactional, marketing, and bulk email sending, plus inbound receiving.
- Key traits
- Very low cost per email; pay as you go.
- Deliverability tooling: dedicated IPs, DKIM/SPF/DMARC authentication, reputation dashboard, bounce and complaint handling.
- Send via the API, SMTP interface, or console.
- New accounts start in a sandbox — you must request production access before sending to unverified addresses.
- Not to be confused with
- Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS) — can send email, but for simple system alerts to subscribers, with no templates, tracking, or deliverability management.
